Jab Jab
At the Notting Hill Carnival, Jab Jab brings a centuries-old Grenadian masquerade to the streets of London. Rooted in the history of slavery, performers covered in oil and black paint, dragging chains and crowned with horns, move to the relentless rhythms of drums and conch shells, embodying resistance, remembrance, freedom, and ancestral memory.
Carnival
A long-term photographic study of Notting Hill Carnival, exploring its communities, traditions, and cultural expressions through a decade of documentation. The project aims to create a lasting record of a unique cultural institution, capturing both the scale of the event and the individuals, groups, and traditions that sustain it. As the carnival continues to evolve, the work examines how heritage, identity, and contemporary culture intersect within one of Europe’s largest street festivals.

Jah Skaka - Nine Night
The ‘Nine night’ ritual was held at Goldsmith College for Jah Shaka who died 12th April 2023. Jah Shaka also known as ‘Zulu Warrior’ was a Jamaican reggae/ dub sound system operator in London since the 1970s. Shaka was revered by musicians and dancers across a range of genres and cultures.
